Teddy

At 17, Teddy was kicked out of his parents’ home, with nowhere else to go. After his mom remarried, he says their relationship went from bad to worse. Alone and confused, Teddy stayed at a friend’s house for a few days before heading to Los Angeles in search of a better life.

He spent a year looking for work while living in four shelters, two hotels and couch surfing. Fortunately, a friend told Teddy about Youth Emerging Stronger and he was quickly accepted into our Transitional Living Program.

During his 18-month stay, Teddy was able to obtain his GED, learn computer skills and complete an internship at a local production studio.

A passionate and creative individual, giving back became Teddy’s life goal. He is hoping to produce community outreach projects in the future that focus on the triumphs and challenges of homeless youth.
